2011 Cabernet Sauvignon

2011 Cabernet Sauvignon

About this Wine

Vineyards

Tin Roof 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon was produced from grapes primarily grown in California’s cool coastal regions. With their unique microclimates and rich alluvial soils, these appellations are ideal for producing outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon.

Winemaking

Boldly flavored, smoothly textured and unusually complex, Tin Roof wines are designed to please wine lovers seeking distinctive varietal character. Blended with a small amount of Syrah, our 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon was fermented in stainless steel tanks at warm temperatures to fully extract color, flavor and tannin. It was then aged in French and American oak to round out its intense dark berry and cherry flavors.

Winemaker's Notes

Our Cabernet Sauvignon displays hints of fresh pine and rosemary, and deep black currant. Well-structured and smooth, this wine has gently gripping tannins and a persistent finish. Full and lush on the palate, its distinctive varietal character makes it an ideal match for beef and lamb dishes, venison, hearty stews and soft ripening cheeses.

Current Vintage Accolades - 2011

88 Points / Tasting Panel Magazine

“Smooth and fresh with sweet black raspberry and cherry fruit; clean and tangy with balance and length.”

The Naked Vine

“In all honesty, the Cabernet was one of the better sub-$10 bottles I’ve had in quite some time. Good tannic structure, nice flavor, and actual complexity within its dark cherry and berry notes. With both the steak and the chocolate, also a winner. An excellent effort.”

86 Points / Intoxicology Report

“Supple and nicely rounded, aromas of blackberry, coffee and cedar draw you in; the mouth-filling, fruit-forward palate keeps you there. Tannins are gripping, but integrated. A nice choice, remarkable at the price.”

Holiday Winners / Examiner.com

“This wine is boldly flavored, smooth textured and features lots of depth. Underpinnings of pine and currant accent intense dark berry-cherry impressions. Pair with beef or ripe cheeses.”

Sacramento Bee

“Bright and aromatic...upfront cherries supported by the correct note of oak.”

2+ Stars / Spirit of Wine

“New school and friendly indeed. Black plum and fresh blackberries come as part of a soft, yielding mid-palate. The black plums hold the mid-palate for awhile, bringing a tickle of acids into your cheeks for the clean finish. Overall balance and pleasantness.”

TheWineBuzz

“Bright, deep ruby color and cherry/berry aroma with a hint of tobacco; light bodied with bright cherry flavor accented by clove and black licorice.”

Winelines

“Translucent neon cherry color. Varietal aromas of herbs, dark berry and currant fruit are accented by a high-toned note of bell pepper/eucalyptus. In the mouth, the wine is lightly sweet, showing berry fruit. Medium in body with light tannins.”
