2011 Chardonnay

2011 Chardonnay

About this Wine

Vineyards

Tin Roof 2011 Chardonnay was produced from grapes primarily grown on California’s Central Coast. Chardonnay does best in cool-climate regions where it can ripen slowly and evenly, developing rich flavors while retaining healthy levels of acidity.

Winemaking

Boldly flavored, smoothly textured and unusually complex, Tin Roof wines are designed to please wine lovers seeking distinctive varietal character. Our 2011 Chardonnay was fermented in stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures to preserve its bright fruit flavors, with a significant portion undergoing malolactic fermentation and sur lie aging to foster a creamier texture and richer flavors.

Winemaker's Notes

Our Chardonnay displays fresh apple and peach aromas with a hint of vanilla on the nose. The wine’s broad, mouth-filling palate offers notes of Fuji apple, quince and crème brulee. This Chardonnay is a fabulous accompaniment to fish and chicken dishes, game birds, pork and cream sauce pastas.

“Pleasantly soft, with hints of apple and pear and a fleeting complexity from five months of sur-lie aging.”

Sante Magazine

“Aromatic nose of apricot, apple and ripe stone fruit. A nice acidity on the palate, with flavors of sun dried peach, apples, and vanilla. This is a very nice wine.”

3+ Stars / Spirit of Wine

“Rounder and more aromatic than anticipated, bringing soft vanilla peach compote to mind. Gentle wisps of sweet cream come to the fore, initiating a soft, mouth-filling close. Surprising depth and resiliency, creating a stunning best value at its attractive price point.”

“The fragrance and flavors are largely apple and peach, with a strong shot of vanilla on the palate. There’s some woodiness and buttery, creamy flavors but thankfully not too much of either.”
